this is probably a silly question and it doesn't apply to me right now but it's something i've always wondered about.
hypothetically if you mess up taking you HBC and unknowingly end up pregnant, would you expect to experience a "period"/withdrawal bleeding when going off of the HBC for the placebo week? in other words, is withdrawal bleeding an accurate assessment of pregnancy even though it's not really a real period?
TIA!

I recently was put on Zoloft due to anxiety and depression, but now it seems that I cannot get the same 'oomph' when I orgasm. Don't get me wrong, I can still get there, but it just doesn't feel the same. My clit becomes almost numb and it's difficult to feel anything. I know that there are sexual side effects with this type of meds, but is there anything I can do to? Should I just relax and keep at it? Does anybody have experience with this?

Has anyone ever tried it to start up their period? Most importantly, did it work? What form did you use? (Tea, vaginal insert..?)
As stated in a previous post, I was on HBC for 3 months or-so and stopped. My period is a good 2 weeks late if going by my last cycle (while on HBC). I am NOT pregnant, so no worries there. Have Just felt so bloated, crampy, head-achy and overall gross. :"(

Hey everyone =)I am posting on behalf of my mom since she's not terribly good with internet communication. She is thirty seven, has three children (including myself), and had tubal ligation about six years ago.
She has been diagnosed with global pelvic prolapse (meaning her uterus, bladder, and rectum are all prolapsing simultaneously). It is not to the most advanced stage yet, but she is due to have a hysterectomy around January. She is also showing signs of having developed endometriosis (pain beyond just cramping right before and during her period that magically disappears the week afterwards and more recently, extremely heavy bleeding). She is uncomfortable almost all of the time due to the prolapse but lately, her period week is supposedly worse than the pain of having kidney stones and leaves her shaking and immobile. So, I have a few questions I want to ask for her.
First, has anyone else here dealt with global pelvic prolapse? If so, was surgery to repair it a success?
Second, we've been told that recovery after her hysterectomy will be extremely long. I know she's dreading the recovery period and I'm wondering if anyone can say from personal or second hand experience if the recovery is really as lengthy and uncomfortable as the doctors say it will be.
Third, I know that many of you wonderful VPers have struggled with endo. What are some of the best ways you've found to cope with the pain? Vicodin isn't even making a dent in the pain for her. She's open to any ideas.
Thank you all for any insight you can provide. <3

19, NP, not pregnant, never knowingly had yeast infection or BV before, STI-free. Myself and both exes (polyamorous relationship, both breakups happening close together) who I have had sex with in the last few months had been tested and are also STI-free, which was highly important to all of us considering the multiple partners dealie. Currently on Implanon after Mirena IUD/IUS expelled a month ago.
I am 90% sure I have some kind of BV. Since my IUD expelled about a month ago, I've had manual penetration and oral sex, as well as sex with my (now)ex-girlfriend with a dildo. I have had PIV sex once with a male condom since expulsion. While it wasn't within the first week after expulsion, I'm pretty sure that I was still at a higher risk for infection, but didn't really think of it at the time enough to use gloves and dams, just the condom.
Now, my discharge has been both slightly thicker (though nothing like that "cottage cheese" type of thickness) and slightly yellow in color, though I didn't think much of it because I attributed it to the irritation and breakdown of my uterine lining when the IUD was in and when it expelled (I had it for about a month). Usually when my hormones fluctuate, I have a slight change in scent. I did not notice an abnormal change in scent, but my housemates claim that they notice on their blankets (we tend to bring our blankets in the living room and just get under whoever's because it's cold).
So, now I'm wanting to try the hydrogen peroxide or a vinegar douche. Problem is, I don't have anything like a syringe to squirt it up there with. I've never douched before. I've heard something about a douche bag, and am wondering how it works and if I could make a makeshift one with a condom after washing away the lube. If that' possible, would latex be okay or should I go with nonlatex?
Thanks, VP!

Hi all,
I've felt some pressure/pain around my clit for a few days now. At first I figured it was because I got both the flu and my annual insomnia simultaneously (slightly raised temperature, sensitive skin, everything hurt for a while, etc.), but both are over today and my clit still feels uncomfortable. It's not a burning or itching feeling, more the kind of slight pressure/pain I normally feel when I really, really have to pee. I feel a sort of lingering pressure just after I've been to the bathroom as well, but I don't have to pee more often than usual, and I haven't noticed any other possible symptoms.
I won't be able to see a doctor until Friday, but should I assume this is the start of a UTI? I've never had one before, so I don't really know what to look for. On top of that, my period starts on Friday - will that complicate things at all?
ETA: Just to add, I know it seems odd for UTI pain to be around my clit, but it's a bit hard to pinpoint. I guess it could be the part of my urethra directly underneath that area.

Just a general and quick question :
I believe I have some sort of cyst on my vagina , and I'd like to get it checked out . However , going to the family doctor is out of the question and the only place I can think of is a planned parenthood clinic that I've been to once before .
My question is : Would they be willing to check my cyst out and perhaps provide treatment ? Most people go to planned parenthood for pregnancy tests , but I'm not sure if they have this type of services available .
If it helps at all , I live in Calgary, Alberta and the clinic I'm talking about is in Downtown on Memorial .

So.
I've been on Lutera for the last three months, with little issue. I use it both to regulate my wacky cycles and as birth control.
I have not experienced any lasting side effects -- the hornomal crazies died away after a couple of weeks, and I haven't gained or lost a significant amount of weight -- BUT.
Now I have one huge boob and one normal one.
Okay, they've both gotten about a cup bigger than they were pre-bc (and one was always a little bigger) but in the last two weeks one took a hit of roids and grew another half cup. This is visibly noticeable and What. The. Hell.
Ideas? Ways to even them out? How did you handle a boob that thought it was the incredible hulk?

Since I've been doing FAM, I've had several instances (pre-ovulation) where my temps have been quite low, as in 96.1, 96.4, 96.5...and my temperature (also pre-ovulation) tends to hover between 96.8 and 97.2 on most days. Is this something to be worried about? Do I have abnormally low temperatures?

Anyone experienced with this? I'm really new to it, my doctor wanted to do this for one month so I can figure out if I'm ovulating or not, so he can start clomid. does anyone know if I ovulated? can you tell by the chart?

Hi,
I don't know if you will be bale to help me with this, but I thought f anyone was likely to know VPers were!
I have been having regular Gonapeptyl injections in treatment for heavy periods/fibroids side effects/waiting for hysterectomy. I am allowed only 6 of these due to the risk of osteoperosis because the injections stop the ovaries working. I had my last injection on the 18th November. Prior to this I was having an injection every 4 weeks. For the duration of my treatment I was still having random blood loss and cramping, but the loss was minimal as were the cramps.
My question is, when can I expect my periods to start again? do the injections stop the ovaries for 4 weeks, so now that time has passed since my last injection will they start up again and I can expect my first period 28 days(ish, I know it won't be precise), or will the ovaries have been getting up to speed immediately after the last injection so I;ll be due any time soon? I'm still having hot flushes, which I believed were linked to the Ovaries not producing estrogen?
Does anyone have any experience of this? I'm hoping I'll be able to have a blood free christmas - I also have training events booked soon after and am dreading the whole nasty business starting up again.
Thanks in advance!

Sorry, I looked through the memories but there only seems to be one entry on general hair removal...
Has anyone tried using Veet hair removal creams or a similar product to remove hair down there? How did it work out?
Shaving isn't working out for me and I know I'm too much of a baby to try a Brazilian wax, but something about hair removal creams makes me feel like they won't work very well...

I had a PAP a few weeks ago and when they called to give me the results last week, they told me I had a yeast infection. They recommended I just do an over the counter treatment, so I picked up the Monistat 3 pack. So for the past three days, I've been using it.
Last night was my last night, but tonight I've noticed that I've been spotting a lot of blood. It doesn't appear to be normal spotting (something I get sometimes due to the fact I skip some periods) and it's rather...chunky. Not in a clot kind of way, but it looks like white something, perhaps discharge or even the cream? The colour is also very very light, almost pink. I would think it's spotting but again, I highly doubt it since this is nothing like the normal spotting I've experienced.
Now, I feel like I should mention the first two nights of treating the infection were rather painful. The inside of my vagina was stinging like crazy, but last night it was okay and didn't hurt since that second night.
Could this be something to do with the treatment? Could it just be normal spotting? Actually, could it even be implantation bleeding? I am on the pill and am meticulous about taking it at exactly the same time every day, but did have my partner ejaculate into me by accident about a week and a half ago.
Thank you!

I've been using Nuva Ring for about 8 months now, with no problems until now.
At first I was removing the ring on a Monday night, my period would come around Wednesday, be gone by Saturday or Sunday, and I'd insert the new one on Monday. Fine. But as each month has gone by, my period has started coming later and later, and getting closer to when I want to insert the new ring. Last month I was still bleeding lightly on the day I had to put the new ring in.
Today, I've had the ring out for 5 days and only just started my period today. I know I'll still be bleeding heavily/moderately by the time I have to insert the new one this *Thursday. I usually bleed 2-3 days heavily, then another 2 days lightly.
What I'm worried about is, can I still use tampons after I put the new ring in? It's not going to absorb the hormones at all, and reduce how protected I am? I'm not sure if that's a silly question or not, and I forgot to ask my doctor at the time. I don't mind not using tampons for a few days, but if my period is going to keep getting later and later, surely that's a sign my cycle is way out of whack?
Any clues? Thanks.
*I accidentally left the last one in for 3 days too long, but spoke to my doctor and read the booklet, he said that's fine just to take it out, wait 7 days and put a new one in. So now my day is just Thursday instead of Monday, it shouldn't be affecting this lateness tho.

Hello fellow VPers .
You guys have always given me wonderful advice , so thank you thank you thank you for that =)
I have yet another question/problem today ... I recently found a bump on my vagina . It's no where close to the actual opening or anything , but it is there , and it is painful to the touch . It's sort of in the middle between my clitoris hood and the place where my thigh ends , if that makes sense at all . When I touch it , I can sort of feel that there's some form of liquid inside . It's definitely no mosquito bite .
I've had these before , but they've gone away on their own , and they've never gotten this big . (It's almost the size of a dime now) It's normal skin color and when you take a closer look there's a white dot in the middle of it (very small, the size of the tip of a pin... I wasn't even sure it was part of the bump at first) So I'm not sure what I should do . If I don't touch it , it's fine . If I touch it , it's tender and sort of painful . I'm hoping it'll go away on its own , but it's been a couple days and it just keeps getting bigger and more tender .
Just a side note : I am sexually active but both my boyfriend and I were virgins when we had sex . I looked up genital herpes and warts and it looks nothing like those .
I'm guessing it's some sort of cyst that wont go away ...
So wondering if anyone here had any advice/help ?
Sorry about the lengthy post , but thank you in advance ! =)
EDIT - Today's the day after I made the post , and half of my pubic area is swollen . The white dot is no longer there , and is replaced by a dark pink spot in the center . It just keeps getting bigger . I also do not shave or wax , so I'm not expecting an ingrown hair BUT I understand that it can happen . I just never had one before so I wouldn't know what they are like . I'm thinking of going to planned parenthood to check it out , if it doesn't go away by Thursday/Friday.

hello all! ( background! )
alright! so! I've always been a very emotional person (ever since I was little my mom used to say "you better learn how to control your tears because soon you'll have all these crazy hormones flying and it'll be a lot worse!"), and recently I've been terribly emotional and have experienced waves of depression and anxiety (pms has been a blaaast the past few months, to say the least)
I was wondering if I were to go on the pill if it were to mess up my hormones more and crank up the intensity of my psycho emotional rollercoaster, or if there's not really a way to tell orrrr if it would be a better option (risk wise and money wise) to just try out something else to possibly regulate my moods (I was going to opt for a vit. b complex, I haven't been diagnosed with clinical depression or anything so I wouldn't use anti-depressants or anything)
thanks so much and sorry if that doesn't make any sense!

Hellooo everyone,
I looked in the archives and on Google but couldn't find anything like this. I know a lot of girls started masturbating really young but it didn't really even occur to me until I was like 16. I'm 18 now and I have JUST this year managed to have an orgasm. I've had sex once but it sucked so I'm not even counting it as part of my experience.
Anyway, my problem is that when I do masturbate I feel very little to nothing before I orgasm. I basically feel nothing/very very little sensation for about 10 minutes and then I have an intense but VERY short orgasm. Is it normal to feel nothing before having an orgasm? I know it takes time to know what works for you and it might just be because I haven't found what works best for me, but I've never heard of a girl literally feeling nothing until she comes! Everyone I know or have heard of enjoys the whole masturbation process, not just the end, so I'm a bit confused. Has anything like this happened to anyone here?
